Mouratoglou: “The dream is to have one UTS per month”

The Frenchman believes the UTS is the perfect accompaniment to the regular Tours

Patrick Mouratoglou says he would like to see one UTS event per month in future, to complement the existing ATP and WTA Tours.

The founder of UTS, which had its Grand Final in London last weekend, said he believed there is no reason why it could not work alongside the traditional Tours, and believes it will bring new fans to the sport.

“My dream is to have UTS together with the ATP, having a traditional Tour, like we have already, which is I think beautiful and incredible for all the traditional tennis fans, and next to it, another Tour, that is UTS, dedicated to bringing young fans and new fans, to become tennis fans,” Mouratoglou said in an Instagram post.

“And I think if we work together, all year long, and we are able to have at least one competition per month – that would be ideal – then I think we can do an incredible job for the future of tennis and for all the industry.”

The first ever season-ending UTS Grand Final was won by Britain’s Jack Draper, The Power, who beat Holger “The Viking” Rune in the final on Sunday.
