Japanese Taro Daniel moved into the second round of the Dallas Open when Frenchman Constant Lestienne retired on Monday night at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
Daniel, ranked No 62, led 4-6, 6-4, 5-0 when Lestienne, ranked No 104, pulled out at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Monday night.
The Japanese player will face second seed Tommy Paul next.
