Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open: Kasatkina advances to final

Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 7 seed, moved into the final of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open by edging out Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 6 seed, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (2) at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City on Saturday.
Kasatkina, ranked No 14, will play the winner of the match between Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the top seed, and Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 8 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Russian won against French qualifier Diane Parry (6-4, 5-7, 6-4), American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger (6-3, 7-5) and Romanian Sorana Cirstea (6-2, 6-0).
Haddad Maia, ranked No 13, defeated Chinese wildcard Xiyu Wang (6-2, 7-6 (4)), Pole Magda Linette (7-6 (6), 6-7 (1), 6-1) and Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the second seed (6-3, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Abu Dhabi tournament.
