Indian Wells: Garcia advances to third round with win over Tomova

Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 20 seed, reached the third round of the Indian Wells by winning against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday evening.
Garcia, ranked No 26, will face the winner of the match between Russian Diana Shnaider and Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 9 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament, Tomova, ranked No 75, beat American Sofia Kenin (6-4, 7-6 (5)).
