Indian Wells: Potapova books spot in quarter-finals

Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 28 seed, advanced to the last 8 of the Indian Wells by winning against Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 13 seed, 7-5, 0-6, 6-3 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Tuesday evening.
Potapova, ranked No 33, will face the winner of the match between Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the No 22 seed, and Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 31 seed, next.
The 22-year-old Russian defeated Marie Bouzkova (7-5, 6-1) and Argentinian lucky loser Nadia Podoroska (6-1, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Indian Wells tournament, Paolini, ranked No 14, won against German Tatjana Maria (6-3, 6-3) and edged out Russian Anna Kalinskaya, the No 21 seed (6-3, 3-6, 6-4).
