Antalya Open: Kudermetova reaches last eight
Polina Kudermetova benefited from the abandonment of Noma Noha Akugue (6-3, 3-0) on Thursday night and will play the winner of the match between qualifier Leyre Romero Gormaz and No 5 seed Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in the next round

Russian Polina Kudermetova advanced to the last 8 of the Antalya Open when German Noma Noha Akugue retired on Thursday at the Megasaray Tennis Academy.
Kudermetova, ranked No 193, led 6-3, 3-0 when Noha Akugue, ranked No 185, pulled out on Thursday night at the Megasaray Tennis Academy.
The 20-year-old Russian will play the winner of the match between qualifier Leyre Romero Gormaz and No 5 seed Jessica Bouzas Maneiro next.
In the previous round of the Antalya tournament, Polina Kudermetova beat wildcard Anastasiia Gureva (6-2, 6-0).
The 20-year-old German won against Austrian Julia Grabher, the No 3 seed (5-7, 7-5, 6-2) in the previous round of the Antalya tournament.
