Portuguese wildcard Matilde Jorge won against No 5 seed Harriet Dart 6-3, 6-1 to advance to the last 8 of the Oeiras Ladies Open on Wednesday evening.
Matilde Jorge will face Dane Clara Tauson, the No 4 seed, next.
The 20-year-old Portuguese beat wildcard Ana Filipa Santos (6-2, 7-5) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Dart, ranked No 88, defeated Portuguese wildcard Maria Garcia (6-2, 6-4).
