No 5 seed Mirra Andreeva won against Elina Avanesyan 7-5, 6-4 to move into the quarter-finals of the Rouen Open at the Kindarena on Wednesday evening.
Andreeva, ranked No 43, will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 3 seed, and Italian Martina Trevisan next.
Mirra Andreeva beat Argentinian Nadia Podoroska (6-1, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Rouen tournament, Avanesyan, ranked No 67, edged out French qualifier Fiona Ferro (6-2, 1-6, 7-5).
