Portuguese Francisca Jorge advanced to the last eight of the Oeiras Ladies Open by winning against Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 7 seed, 6-3, 7-5 on Thursday.
Jorge, ranked No 190, will play American Bernarda Pera, the top seed, next.
The Portuguese edged out Russian Anastasia Zakharova (3-6, 6-1, 6-4) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Zarazua, ranked No 101, defeated American Alycia Parks (6-0, 6-2).
