Mexican Renata Zarazua won against American Peyton Stearns 6-4, 6-4 to move into the last four of the Parma Ladies Open presented by Iren on Thursday evening.
Zarazua, ranked No 103, will play the winner of the match between Russian Kamilla Rakhimova and Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous rounds, the Mexican defeated Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 7 seed (6-1, 6-2) and Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic (3-0 ret.).
