Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 8 seed, won against Mexican Renata Zarazua 6-4, 6-4 to move into the final of the Parma Ladies Open presented by Iren on Friday evening.
Sherif, ranked No 80, will face Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Egyptian beat Italian qualifier Martina Colmegna (6-2, 7-5), Swiss qualifier Susan Bandecchi (6-3, 7-5) and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova (6-3, 7-5).
Zarazua, ranked No 103, defeated Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 7 seed (6-1, 6-2), Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic (3-0 ret.) and American Peyton Stearns (6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds.
