No 4 seed Lucia Bronzetti beat Martina Trevisan 6-2, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Rabat Open at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc on Wednesday.
Bronzetti, ranked No 48, will face the winner of the match between Chinese Xiyu Wang, the No 6 seed, and American Peyton Stearns next.
Lucia Bronzetti won against Moroccan wildcard Malak El Allami (6-1, 6-0) in the previous round of the Rabat tournament.
In the round of 32 of the Rabat tournament, Trevisan, ranked No 88, defeated Japanese Nao Hibino (7-5, 4-6, 6-3).
