Alert: Swiatek cruises past Gauff in Roland-Garros semi-finals
Iga Swiatek defeated Coco Gauff in straight sets on Thursday at Roland-Garros. Swiatek will face either Jasmine Paolini or Mirra Andreeva in the final.

Iga Swiatek, the top seed, reached the final at Roland-Garros by beating Coco Gauff, the No 3 seed, 6-2, 6-4 on Thursday afternoon.
Already a three-time champion of the tournament, Swiatek will battle either Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 12 seed, or Russian Mirra Andreeva for the title on Saturday.
Ahead of Thursday’s victory Swiatek ousted French qualifier Leolia Jeanjean (6-1, 6-2), Japanese Naomi Osaka (7-6 (1), 1-6, 7-5), Marie Bouzkova (6-4, 6-2), Russian Anastasia Potapova (6-0, 6-0) and No 5 seed Marketa Vondrousova (6-0, 6-2).
Gauff advanced to the semis with wins over Julia Avdeeva (6-1, 6-1), Slovenian qualifier Tamara Zidansek (6-3, 6-4), Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, the No 30 seed (6-2, 6-4), Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-1, 6-2) and Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 8 seed (4-6, 6-2, 6-3).
