Frenchwoman Diane Parry beat Australian qualifier Kimberly Birrell 6-3, 7-6 (4) to advance to the last four of the Nottingham Open at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Saturday.
Parry, ranked No 64, will face the winner of the match between Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the top seed, and No 6 seed Karolina Pliskova next.
Ahead of her victory, the 21-year-old Frenchman won against Spaniard Cristina Bucsa (6-3, 6-2) and Australian Daria Saville (6-4, 6-1).
Birrell, ranked No 148, defeated qualifier Emily Appleton (6-3, 7-5) and Italian qualifier Lucrezia Stefanini (6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-0) in the previous rounds of the Nottingham tournament.
