Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 20 seed, moved into the third round of Wimbledon when Colombian Camila Osorio retired on Thursday at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London.
Haddad Maia, ranked No 20, led 3-0 when Osorio, ranked No 84, pulled out on Thursday afternoon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Londres.
The Brazilian will play the winner of the match between American Danielle Collins, the No 11 seed, and Hungarian qualifier Dalma Galfi next.
Ahead of her victory, Beatriz Haddad Maia beat Pole Magdalena Frech (7-5, 6-3).
The 22-year-old Colombian won against American Lauren Davis (6-3, 6-1) in the previous round of The Championships.
