Nordea Open: Garin falls in opening round

Russian Pavel Kotov, the No 8 seed, defeated Chilean Cristian Garin 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-1 to move into the second round of the Nordea Open at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Monday.

Kotov, ranked No 60, will play the winner of the match between Croat qualifier Duje Ajdukovic and Frenchman Luca Van Assche next.
