Citi Open: O’Connell makes second round
Christopher O’Connell defeated Harold Mayot 6-4, 7-6 (3) on Monday evening and will play No 13 seed Brandon Nakashima in the next round

Australian Christopher O’Connell moved into the second round of the Citi Open by winning against Frenchman Harold Mayot 6-4, 7-6 (3) at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington on Monday evening.
O’Connell, ranked No 94, will play No 13 seed Brandon Nakashima next.
