Citi Open: Shapovalov battles past Kecmanovic to move into quarter-finals
Denis Shapovalov beat Kecmanovic 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 and will face the winner of the match between Brandon Nakashima and Ben Shelton in the next round

Canadian wildcard Denis Shapovalov defeated Serb Miomir Kecmanovic, the No 12 seed, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the last eight of the Citi Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington.
Shapovalov, ranked No 139, will play the winner of the match between No 13 seed Brandon Nakashima and second seed Ben Shelton next.
The Canadian won against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut (6-1, 6-4) and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 6 seed (6-2, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Washington D.C. tournament.
In the previous round of the Washington D.C. tournament, Kecmanovic, ranked No 51, beat American wildcard J.J. Wolf (6-2, 6-3).
