No 7 seed Eva Lys won against wildcard Julia Middendorf 6-3, 6-1 to move into the last 16 of the Hamburg European Open on Monday.
Lys, ranked No 112, will play the winner of the match between Russian Ekaterina Makarova and German Ella Seidel next.
