Georgian qualifier Ekaterine Gorgodze moved into the last 16 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by edging out Swiss Simona Waltert 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Gorgodze, ranked No 426, will play Spaniard Aliona Bolsova next.
