Chengdu Open: Shang upsets Bublik to reach semi-finals
Juncheng Shang beat Alexander Bublik 6-4, 7-6 (8) on Sunday afternoon and will face German Yannick Hanfmann in the next round

Chinese Juncheng Shang advanced to the semi-finals of the Chengdu Open by winning against Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the second seed, 6-4, 7-6 (8) at the Sichuan International Tennis Center on Sunday.
Shang, ranked No 67, will face German Yannick Hanfmann next.
The 19-year-old Chinese beat Japanese wildcard Kei Nishikori (6-4, 6-4) and Russian Roman Safiullin, the No 8 seed (5-7, 6-3, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Chengdu tournament, Bublik, ranked No 27, won against Argentinian qualifier Federico Agustin Gomez (6-4, 6-4).
