China Open: Anisimova edges past Kasatkina to make last 16

American Amanda Anisimova, the No 34 seed, moved into the last 16 of the China Open by beating Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 9 seed, 7-6 (1), 6-4 at the National Tennis Center in Beijing.
Anisimova, ranked No 43, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Nadia Podoroska and Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 5 seed, next.
The American edged out Colombian Camila Osorio (1-6, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Beijing tournament.
During the second round of the Beijing tournament, Kasatkina, ranked No 11, won against Croat lucky loser Jana Fett (6-1, 6-2).
