Croat Tara Wurth advanced to the quarter-finals of the Bolivia Open by defeating Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 4 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (2) on Wednesday.
Wurth, ranked No 301, will play Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 7 seed, next.
The 22-year-old Croat won against Australian qualifier Tina Nadine Smith (6-2, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Pigossi, ranked No 129, won against qualifier Carolina M. Alves (6-3, 6-1).
