Dow Tennis Classic: Parks cruises past Sharma to move into semi-finals

American Alycia Parks, the No 3 seed, reached the last four of the Dow Tennis Classic by winning against Australian Astra Sharma 6-3, 6-1.
Parks, ranked No 120, will play wildcard Lauren Davis next.
The American edged out Israeli Lina Glushko (4-6, 6-2, 6-4) and wildcard Catherine McNally (6-1, 4-6, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Sharma, ranked No 260, edged out American Ann Li, the No 5 seed (6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (3)) and beat Russian Anastasia Tikhonova (6-3, 6-3).
