LP Open by IND: Sherif makes last four
The Egyptian was much too strong for Jorge on Friday

Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, won against Portuguese Francisca Jorge 6-1, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the LP Open by IND on Friday.
Sherif, ranked No 100, will face the winner of the match between Romanian lucky loser Georgia Andreea Craciun and Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the second seed, next.
The Egyptian defeated Russian Alevtina Ibragimova (6-4, 6-1) and Colombian Emiliana Arango (6-2, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Jorge, ranked No 187, won against Spaniard Angela Fita Boluda (6-1, 6-4) and Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 7 seed (7-5, 7-5).
