Argentinian qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle advanced to the second round of the Hobart International by beating Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 at the Hobart ’s Domain Tennis Centre on Monday.

Carle, ranked No 96, will play American McCartney Kessler next.
