Australian wildcard Kimberly Birrell moved into the quarter-finals of the Singapore Open by edging out American Hailey Baptiste 6-7 (3), 6-3, 7-5 at the Kallang Tennis Hub.
Birrell, ranked No 95, will face American Ann Li next.
Ahead of her victory, the Australian won against Russian Polina Kudermetova, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-2).
Baptiste, ranked No 93, beat Mexican Renata Zarazua (2-6, 6-0, 6-3) in the previous round of the Singapore Open 2025.
