American Ashlyn Krueger advanced to the last eight of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open by edging out Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 3 seed, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City on Wednesday.
Krueger, ranked No 51, will play Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Abu Dhabi tournament, the 20-year-old American defeated qualifier McCartney Kessler (6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3).
