Indian wildcard Shrivalli Bhamidipaty reached the last 8 of the L & T Mumbai Open by winning against Serb qualifier Aleksandra Krunic 6-4, 6-0 on Thursday.
Bhamidipaty, ranked No 325, will play Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 5 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Indian defeated Russian Elena Pridankina (6-1, 6-0).
Krunic, ranked No 301, won against Croat lucky loser Petra Marcinko (6-4, 6-2) during the 32.
