Qatar Open: Gauff upended by Kostyuk in second round

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk reached the last 16 of the Qatar Open by defeating American Coco Gauff, the No 3 seed, 6-2, 7-5 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday.

Kostyuk, ranked No 21, will play the winner of the match between Magda Linette and Magdalena Frech next.

In the previous round of the Qatar tournament, the 22-year-old Ukrainian won against wildcard Zeynep Sonmez (6-3, 6-3).
