World No 1 Sabalenka stunned by Alexandrova at Qatar Open
Ekaterina Alexandrova edged out Aryna Sabalenka 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) on Tuesday evening and will play Belgian Elise Mertens in the next round

Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova edged out Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) to move into the last 16 of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday evening.
Alexandrova, ranked No 26, will play Belgian Elise Mertens next.
The Russian beat wildcard Emma Raducanu (6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Qatar tournament.
