American wildcard Learner Tien won against Australian Adam Walton 6-4, 6-3 to reach the second round of the Delray Beach Open at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center on Wednesday evening.
Tien, ranked No 82, will face No 4 seed Matteo Arnaldi next.
