Ostapenko eliminated from Indian Wells Open in second round

Chinese Wang Xinyu defeated Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 26 seed, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the third round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday.
Wang, ranked No 42, will play the winner of the match between Pole Magda Linette and American Jessica Pegula, the No 4 seed, next.
The Chinese won against Egyptian Mayar Sherif (6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
