Indian Wells 1000: Samsonova comes from behind to beat Kasatkina

No 24 seed Liudmila Samsonova moved into the last 16 of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 by beating No 12 seed Daria Kasatkina 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in California on Monday night.
Samsonova, ranked No 25, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Jaqueline Cristian and Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 6 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, Liudmila Samsonova won against American Catherine McNally (7-6 (8), 6-4).
Kasatkina, ranked No 12, edged out American Sofia Kenin (3-6, 7-5, 6-4) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
