Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 5 seed, edged out Serb Miomir Kecmanovic 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the third round of the Miami Masters at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Ruud, ranked No 6, will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Corentin Moutet and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 30 seed, next.
Kecmanovic, ranked No 48, defeated American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Miami Open.
