Stuttgart Open: Alexandrova beats Andreeva, moves into last eight
Ekaterina Alexandrova beat Mirra Andreeva 6-3, 6-2 on Thursday and will play the winner of the match between Pole Magdalena Frech and American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, in the next round

Ekaterina Alexandrova won against No 6 seed Mirra Andreeva 6-3, 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Open at the Porsche-Arena on Thursday.
Alexandrova, ranked No 22, will play the winner of the match between Pole Magdalena Frech and American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, Ekaterina Alexandrova defeated Liudmila Samsonova (6-3, 6-3).
Andreeva, ranked No 7, benefited from the abandonment of lucky loser Erika Andreeva (6-2, 1-0) in the previous round of the Stuttgart tournament.
