Madrid Masters: Darderi makes second round

Italian Luciano Darderi moved into the second round of the Madrid Masters by beating Frenchman Quentin Halys 6-4, 6-4 at the Caja Mágica on Thursday.

Darderi, ranked No 46, will play No 16 seed Frances Tiafoe next.
