Madrid Masters: Lucky loser Diallo stuns Dimitrov to reach quarter-finals

Canadian lucky loser Gabriel Diallo reached the last eight of the Madrid Masters by edging out Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 15 seed, 5-7, 7-6 (7), 6-4 at the Caja Mágica.
Diallo, ranked No 78, will play the winner of the match between Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 6 seed, and Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 10 seed, next.
The Canadian won against Belgian Zizou Bergs (6-1, 6-2), Pole lucky loser Kamil Majchrzak (7-5, 4-6, 6-4) and Cameron Norrie (2-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Madrid tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Dimitrov, ranked No 16, beat Chilean Nicolas Jarry (6-3, 6-4) and qualifier Jacob Fearnley (6-4, 7-6 (3)).
