Madrid Masters: Musetti advances to last eight with straight-sets win over De Minaur

Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 10 seed, won against Australian Alex de Minaur, the No 6 seed, 6-4, 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Madrid Masters at the Caja Mágica on Wednesday night.
Musetti, ranked No 11, will play Canadian lucky loser Gabriel Diallo next.
In the previous rounds of the Madrid tournament, the Italian defeated Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry (7-6 (3), 6-2) and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 17 seed (7-5, 7-6 (3)).
De Minaur, ranked No 7, won against Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-2, 6-3) and Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 29 seed (6-3, 7-6 (3)) earlier in the tournament.
