No 3 seed Katie Volynets moved into the quarter-finals of the L’Open 35 de Saint Malo by defeating Varvara Lepchenko 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday.
Volynets, ranked No 70, will play the winner of the match between Swiss Celine Naef and Slovenian Kaja Juvan next.
Ahead of her victory, Katie Volynets won against Russian Anastasia Zakharova (6-4, 6-0).
Lepchenko, ranked No 120, beat Australian Priscilla Hon (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round.
