Catalonia Open: Masarova advances to last four
Rebeka Masarova beat Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday and will face the winner of the match between Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Spaniard Carlota Martinez Cirez in the next round

Swiss Rebeka Masarova won against No 3 seed Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 6-4 to move into the last 4 of the Catalonia Open on Thursday.
Masarova, ranked No 153, will play the winner of the match between Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Spaniard Carlota Martinez Cirez next.
Ahead of her victory, the Swiss defeated Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus (6-3, 6-4) and edged out Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 5 seed (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Siniakova, ranked No 57, beat Spaniard Andrea Lazaro Garcia (7-5, 6-2) and Spanish qualifier Ruth Roura Llaverias (6-1, 6-1) in the previous rounds.
