Eye of the Coach #104: “Sinner’s movement makes him a contender to win Roland-Garros”
Mouratoglou thinks that the Italian is a genuine contender to win a maiden Roland-Garros title this season
Jannik Sinner, coming off the back of a three-month absence from the tour, remains a major threat to the rest of the field at this year’s Roland-Garros.
Patrick Mouratoglou asserts that because of his supreme movement – especially on clay – the Italian is a genuine contender to lift a maiden French Open title this season.
“The key element to be performant on clay and grass is the movement,” the Frenchman explains. “The fact that Sinner is moving so well and he is comfortable moving on clay and on grass makes him immediately a potential winner of these Grand Slams.”
But Mouratoglou goes on to say that Sinner will need a few matches in a row to start to really feel the game after being absent for the past three months.
