Russian Kamilla Rakhimova advanced to the quarter-finals of the Trophée Clarins by beating Japanese Moyuka Uchijima, the No 4 seed, 6-2, 6-1 on Thursday.
Rakhimova, ranked No 85, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva, the No 8 seed, and American Hailey Baptiste next.
In the previous round, the Russian won against French wildcard Ksenia Efremova (6-3, 6-3).
Uchijima, ranked No 47, defeated Thai Mananchaya Sawangkaew (1-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
