Zeynep Sonmez moved into the second round of the Rabat Open by winning against Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 3 seed, 6-2, 6-1 at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc on Monday.
Sonmez, ranked No 76, will face the winner of the match between Latvian wildcard Anastasija Sevastova and Moroccan wildcard Yasmine Kabbaj next.
