Pole Magda Linette advanced to the last 8 of the Strasbourg Open by beating Slovak Rebecca Sramkova 6-4, 6-3 at the Tennis Club de Strasbourg on Tuesday.
Linette, ranked No 33, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Xinyu Wang and Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, next.
The 33-year-old Pole won against No 7 seed Barbora Krejcikova (6-3, 6-3) in the previous round of the Strasbourg tournament.
In the previous round of the Strasbourg tournament, Sramkova, ranked No 41, defeated Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (6-0, 6-4).
