Roland-Garros disappointment for French teenager Efremova
The 16-year-old lost in qualifying to Anna-Lena Friedsam

Ksenia Efremova, aged 16, lost in Roland-Garros qualifying to Anna-Lena Friedsam, 6-1, 7-5.
The French teenager, who trains at the Mouratoglou Academy, missed last summer’s Grand Slams due to an elbow injury.
She was most recently seen in action in Paris at the Trophee Clarins last week, losing in the round of 32 to Kamilla Rakhimova 6-3, 6-3.
Born in Moscow, Efremova moved to Nice in 2019 with her family and started training at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy later that same year. She excelled as a child, winning the Masters Tennis Europe in 2022, and reaching the semi-finals of the Petit As in 2023.
She became a French citizen in 2023, and in 2024 she became the youngest woman in two decades to win an ITF Tour event when she was triumphant at the W15 in Monastir, Tunisia.
