Rabat Open: Joint lifts the trophy

Australian Maya Joint won the Rabat Open title by defeating Romanian Jaqueline Cristian 6-3, 6-2 at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc on Saturday.
Joint, ranked No 78, beat Croat Ana Konjuh (7-5, 6-2), American Katie Volynets, the No 9 seed (6-0, 6-3), American Ann Li, the No 4 seed (6-2, 6-1) and Ajla Tomljanovic (6-4 ret.) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Rabat tournament, Cristian, ranked No 74, defeated Ukrainian wildcard Yelyzaveta Kotliar (6-3, 6-1), Spaniard Aliona Bolsova (7-6 (1), 7-6 (1)), Latvian wildcard Anastasija Sevastova (6-3, 6-4) and Colombian Camila Osorio, the second seed (6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-4).
