Roland-Garros: Shelton moves into last 16, potential Alcaraz clash in store

American Ben Shelton, the No 13 seed, won against Italian qualifier Matteo Gigante 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the last 16 of Roland-Garros.
Shelton, ranked No 13, will play the winner of the match between Bosnian Damir Dzumhur and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed, next.
The 22-year-old American beat Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3) and Frenchman Hugo Gaston (W/O) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Gigante, ranked No 167, defeated Lebanese qualifier Benjamin Hassan (6-4, 6-2, 6-0) and edged out Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 20 seed (6-4, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4).
