American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, beat Marketa Vondrousova 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the last 16 of Roland-Garros.
She retains her unbeaten record at Roland-Garros against unseeded opponents.
Pegula, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between wildcard Elsa Jacquemot and wildcard Lois Boisson next.
The American won against Romanian Anca Todoni (6-2, 6-4) and Ann Li (6-3, 7-6 (3)) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Vondrousova, ranked No 96, won against Russian qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva (6-4, 6-4) and Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 25 seed (6-0, 4-6, 6-3).
