German qualifier Tatjana Maria beat No 6 seed Karolina Muchova 6-7 (3), 7-5, 6-1 to move into the last eight of the Queen’s at Queen’s Club in London on Wednesday.
Maria, ranked No 86, will face the winner of the match between qualifier Heather Watson and Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Queen’s tournament, the 37-year-old German won against Canadian Leylah Fernandez (7-6 (4), 6-2).
Muchova, ranked No 14, edged out Australian qualifier Maddison Inglis (7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-4) in the first round of the Queen’s tournament.
